The Master Plan for dealing with fire, subsidence and rehabilitation in the lease hold of BCCL was approved on 12th Aug.,2009 by Govt. of India with an estimated investment of Rs.7,112.11 crores for Jharia Coalfields. Implementation period has been delineated as 10 years after the pre-implementation period of 2 years.
REHABILITATION & RESETTLEMENT by BCCL
• BCCL has to construct 25000 houses at a cost of 1068.45 crores for BCCL families. However as per present projected requirement 15852 houses are required for Fire / Subsidence affected employees of BCCL (Phase-I, 12642 now 7926, Phase II 12538 now 7926 to be completed by 2021) houses as per Master Plan due to projected retirement / decrease in Manpower over next 5-6 years.
• Construction completed – 5576; Construction in progress -9424; 2612 families have been shifted till date.
• Thus BCCL is well ahead of the Master Plan time schedule and will be able to rehabilitate its affected employees/ families to the safer places). by 2018-19 which is ahead of the scheduled period of Master Plan
REHABILITATION & RESETTLEMENT by JRDA
• JRDA has completed demographic/ socio-economic survey of 84497 families in 569 sites out of 54159 in 595 sites as per master plan.
• JRDA has to construct a total of 54159 houses in two phases with in a period of 10 years, by 2021. JRDA has constructed 3072 houses at “Jharia Vihar”
Belgaria under demonstration scheme in which it shifted 1169 families and 720 new houses under Master Plan in which 103 families from Dobari& Ghanoodih has been shifted(total 3072 houses completed, total shifting 1272 families). In addition of 2352 houses under demonstration scheme ,JRDA has taken action for 8000 houses till now.
